Moovida is an open source, full-featured content media player for your computer. During the last years, when computers began to be more used for multimedia, media center applications became very popular.
Moovida can be used to display photos, play movies, TV shows, and music. It automatically detects iPods, cameras, and USB devices. Besides letting you play files on your computer, it can be used to browse the Internet as well. You can watch YouTube videos, view pictures on Flickr, or listen to your favorite podcasts.
For the movies, the media center has full HD support displayable on a TV screen, and supports lots of video formats and streaming video. Regarding video codecs, the following are supported: mpeg1, mpeg2, vp6, svq3, mpeg4, h264, h263, theora, and wmv. Another nice feature is the support for such subtitle formats as srt and ssa.
The program allows you to organize music in various categories based on certain criteria. It also downloads album art automatically, supports streaming audio as well as online content integration into the library.
